AlterGeo has developed an innovative method for detecting mistletoe and assessing tree damage directly. Utilizing the Phase One PAS-280 large-format photogrammetric camera mounted on the Alter-Eye ultralight aircraft, this technique offers several benefits. It enables precise identification of tree species and other forest stand parameters, facilitating efficient mapping of forest areas at a rate of approximately 4,000 hectares per hour.

Aerial damage measurment answers critical questions, such as the volume of wood that needs to be harvested, the locations of damaged areas, the nature of the damage, the extent of the area requiring replanting, and the number of seedlings needed for forest renewal.
